Most Stupidest Predictions. Flim Flammery, Full List. Tim Flannery. Former Climate Commissioner, Professorial fellow at Melbourne University. Australian of the Year 2007.

“There is a fair chance Perth will be the 21st century’s first ghost metropolis.” 2004

2005 predicted Sydney’s dams could be dry in as little as two years, leaving the city “facing extreme difficulties.”

In 2007, he claimed: “In Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane, water supplies are so low they need desalinated water urgently, possibly in as little as 18 months.”

2007 said “global warming was so baking our Earth that even the rain that falls isn’t actually going to fill our dams and our river systems.”

An almost permanent drought. “Over the past 50 years southern Australia has lost about 20 per cent of its rainfall, and one cause is almost certainly global warming, he claimed in 2007.

In 2008, he said: “Adelaide … may run out of water by early 2009.”

In 2009, Flannery warned “this may be the Arctic’s first ice-free year.”

“Australia’s Angry Summer shows that climate change is already adversely affecting Australians” 2013 based on a three day heat wave.

2012 was actually only Australia’s 39th warmest year since 1910

He says “the heat then gave way to floods in eastern Australia.”

“Rains were made heavier by global warming.”

“There are hot rocks (underground) in South Australia that potentially have enough embedded energy in them to run Australia’s economy for the best part of a century,” he said. 2016

“The technology to extract that energy and turn it into electricity is relatively straightforward.”
The Rudd government believed him and gave a $90 million grant to a geothermal plant in which Flannery was a shareholder.
The first shafts were abandoned due to technical problems, and the rest soon filled up with water from the rains he predicted would never return.

The plant was a technological nightmare and was scrapped.

“We’re more likely to see severe cyclones “more frequently in the future” 2015
In 2017, Flannery claimed global warming was “drowning Pacific islands like Tuvalu and this was a widespread phenomenon”

Quoted British scientist James Lovelock has predicted a future human population of just a billion people, he writes. “Mass deaths are predicted”. 2019

Flannery claims that “man-made global warming and dwindling resources may wipe out most of the Earth’s nearly eight billion people.”

“The climate crisis has now grown so severe that the actions of the denialists have turned predatory: they are now an immediate threat to our children.”

“My children and those of many prominent polluters and climate denialists will probably live to be part of that grim winnowing in a world that the Alan Jonesess and Andrew Bolts have laboured so hard to create.”

“I have come to understand they are threatening my childs wellbeing as much as anyone who might seek to harm a child.”

“They are threatening my children’s wellbeing as much as anyone who might seek to harm a child.” 2018

“Global hunger has increased for the past three years because of extreme weather events”. 2019

When asked about the climate science prognosis.

Flannery said he wouldn’t answer until the young people at the Sydney Opera House had been given a chance to leave. Things were so dire he feared for their mental health. 2018

Flannery ducking out of answering for his dud predictions.
You know what I came in here to talk about, Andrew, here? it’s our farm day we’re doing with our Deakin lecture series in Bendigo.

17th Sept 2019
“Governments aren’t cutting our emissions enough. ”
“This simple fact forces me to look back on my twenty years of climate activism as a colossal failure.”
His last two words are his facts.

Tim Flannery was named Australian of the Year in 2007 after a number of his claims were known to be false.
The $90 million Government grant was also given after his terrible record for facts and truth was well known.
