Dorothea Mackella Poem 1908 Core Of My Heart Extract

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains
Of ragged mountain ranges
Of droughts and flooding rains.

Dorothea Mackella

I was born in 1954. I can remember when Australians were proud of this and other such descriptions of our country.

Now some have an ignorant dislike of the ever changing heat, rain and dry and think it can be changed.

It’s a sickness.
