March has broken all of its previous records by its heat wave.<\/div>\n
As a rule heat waves are mainly experienced during December, January and February, but this year March has shown to the world what it can do and now has the “honor” of having given the people one of the longest heat spells and some of the highest temperatures that have been experienced for a long time.<\/div>\n
Saturday night’s “Herald” stated: “105.5 degrees was the highest temperature in the city today at 3.30 p.m. The mercury then began to drop.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Today’s 9 a.m. temperature of 90.9 deg. was an alltime record for March since records were begun 78 years ago.<\/div>\n
The present heat wave, with the mercury over the century on three consecutive days, is also a record for all time for March.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At noon the temperature at Sydney was 81.3 and the humidity was high.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Canberra recorded 94.7, Hobart 66.1 and Adelaide 104.4.<\/div>\n
At Geelong shortly before noon it was 106 degrees at noon 101 deg. and half an hour later 103. The record of 106 was the highest recording for the season and the highest ever reached in March.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In Ouyen the swimming pool and cool spots on private, lawns were most in favor. Temperatures since the heat wave commenced are:<\/div>\n
