To-day was the fifth successive day during which the thermometer reached 90 degrees and over.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">The readings were:&#8211;90 degrees, 92 degrees, 96 degrees, 98 degrees, and 95 degrees.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">During the heat-wave, which extended from March 9 to March 14 last year, the readings were: &#8212; 95 degrees; 98 degrees, 96 degrees, 99 degrees, 90 degrees, and 95 degrees.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">In 1908 there was only one day on which the maximum reading touched 90 degrees.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">In 1906 some high temperatures were recorded. The first week the reading ranged from 87 degrees on the first to 103 degrees on the sixth and seventh days.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Comparing Sunday&#8217;s maximum of 98.4 with those of other capitals, Perth comes out a long way ahead.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read clicked\">Brisbane registered 89 degrees, Sydney 73 degrees, Adelaide 70 degrees, and Melbourne and Hobart 65 degrees each.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE PERTH HEAT WAVE.
