MELBOURNE, Wednesday. \u2014 Heat-wave <\/span>conditions continue to scorch Melbourne, the noon temperature passing the 98 degree mark.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

So far five people have died.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some relief is promised for late today, but it will be of short duration, according to the Weather Bureau.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Last night one man died in a cell at the North Melbourne watchhouse , and another was found dead in a Richmond street.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Urana, on the Victorian border, 400 miles from- Sydney and Wentworth, 720 miles SW have both had temperatures of over 100 degrees for three days.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
