The yesterday was very great, and the maximum record during the 24 hours ending at 9 a.m. exceeded that of the previous day, which was the then highest recorded locally for 12 years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zone onPage readMode\" data-page-id=\"19168773\" data-x=\"3014\" data-y=\"4795\" data-w=\"676\" data-h=\"215\" data-rotation=\"-1\">\n<div class=\"paragraph onPage\">\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">The record for Rockhampton \u2014 102 degrees\u2014 was beaten by 1 degree by Alice, which station gave 103 degrees as the maximum.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read clicked\">Yesterday was even hotter than the two preceding days, 103-5 degrees being recorded at the telegraph office.
