The record periods of 9 successive days in December on which the temperature exceeded 90deg occurred in 1909 and 1931.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">On Wednesday the temperature in Perth did not exceed 89.7deg. During the week which ended at 9 am on Wednesday the mean maximum temperature in Perth for the period was 98.2deg, which is 17deg above the average for the month. The mean minimum was 71.5deg, which is 10.6<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">above the average for December.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">A report issued by the Weather Bureau yesterday stated that, although cooler conditions were general over the south-western divisions on Wednesday, temperatures were still high throughout the re- mainder of the State except on the coast. On the Coolgardie goldfields<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">readings of 108 and 109 were almost general and the century was considerably exceeded in the northern and eastern agricultural areas and the Gascoynes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">In the tropics Whim Creek was again the highest with 113deg, Marble Bar registering 112. Cape Leeuwin recorded only 72 and Albany 74.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">During the week which ended at 9 am on Wednesday the only rain fall in excess of 20 points was as follows: Wyndham, 139 points; Anna Plains, 64: Coomberdale, 57; Roebourne, 38; Kondinin, 37.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HEAT WAVE ENDS.
