Part 7 In The Rest Of The World Is Warming Up Twice As Fast As The Rest Of The World."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/science\/environment\/news\/finland-study-temperature-rising-faster-climate-change\">https:\/\/weather.com\/science\/environment\/news\/finland-study-temperature-rising-faster-climate-change<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finland is receiving the brunt of global warming, as temperatures across the Nordic country climb faster than anywhere else in the world.<\/p>\n<p>A study conducted by the University of Eastern Finland and the Finnish Meteorological Institute found over the past 40 years, the average temperature has risen more than 0.2 degrees per decade, according to the University of Eastern Finland.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 166 years, the mean temperature has risen over 35 degrees Fahrenheit, Finnish news outlet YLE reported. This past decade, average temperatures have risen about 32 degrees Fahrenheit, a rate that is double that of the entire planet, YLE also noted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(MORE: 7 Big Changes in the Arctic, Thanks to Global Warming)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Researchers found the rise in annual average temperatures occurred during two phases: the beginning of the observation period through the late 1930s and from the late 1960s to present.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers noted the quiet time between these two phases could be attributed to many factors. Santtu Mikkonen,\u00a0University of Eastern Finland researcher, said, \u201cThe stop in the temperature rise can be explained by several factors, including long-term changes in solar activity and post-World War II growth of human-derived aerosols in the atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Professor Ari Laaksonen of the University of Eastern Finland and the Finnish Meteorological Institute that explained the months of November, December and January normally see the biggest rise in temperature.
