Sydney sweltered yesterday In the hottest October<\/span> weather for seven years The maximum temperature was 95. 6 degrees, which was recorded at 2. 15 p m and which was last exceeded in October,<\/span> 1928, when a temperature of 98 degrees was registered.<\/div>\n
The highest October<\/span> temperature recorded in Sydney for the last 70 years was only 3. 2 degrees higher than yesterdays maximum.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The relative humidity was rather low yesterday, and dry atmospheric conditions prevailed until about 3. 30 p m , when the wind changed to an east-north-easterly and the temperature dropped 10 derees within half<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
