Two bushfires, which flared up in the Blue Mountains this afternoon, were brought under con-<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The fires burnt through hundreds of acres of virgin bush country in the Blackheath Medlow Bath district.<\/div>\n
Volunteer firefighters are standing by tonight in case of further outbreaks. No private property was burnt by the fires.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Gusty winds whipped up a fire in Pilliga State forest this afternoon. but firefighters are holding<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

ln a survey of stock losses in the recent disastrous fires, graziers in the Wee Waa district estimated sheep losses at about at 5,000. Sheep valued at \u00a330,000 were lost when fire devastated 100,000 acres of grazing land.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Many graziers had had to shoot sheep and cattle they found wandering about paddocks blinded by fire and smoke.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
