HOT AND COLD. 31 Oct 1935. “This year will go down in history as one of the most freakish on record.” Surely they lie, they didn’t have enough CO2 for freakish weather.

HOT AND COLD
This year will go down in history as one of the most freakish on record.
Right throughout the period the weather changes have been remarkable, and apparently the end is not yet.
Monday was one of the hottest and dustiest days experienced in October for years, the glass
at the local post office showing 92 degrees.
Clouds worked up on Tuesday, and during the evening and early morning hours light showers
of rain fell. And then the breeze went round to the south, and immediately the mercury began to
tumble.
The air was quite frosty, and in many homes fires blazed merrily. The minimum registration
at the post office was 42deg., but in the southern parts of the district freezing point must have been reached.
Summer and winter all within the space of a couple of days is over the odds.
