WARM SPELL IN ANTARCTICA
Temperature Above Zero.
LITTLE AMERICA,June 3.— Un-seasonal warmth continues at the head quarters camp of Rear-Admiral Byrd’s antarctic expedition at Little America, and for the last twelve days, with a single
exception, the temperature has been above zero.
On Saturday the thermometer touched 16 degrees above.
The senior meteorologist, of the expedition (Mr. Haines). says that vast streams of warm air are pouring through the upper atmosphere from oceans to the north.
He does not know whether to, consider the warm spell abnormal or not, as this is only the third time that winter weather conditions in the antarctic have been studied.
