ROME, Monday (AAP
Reuter).—Police yesterday blamed a heatwave and violent summer storms as being ”largely responsible” for a crime-wave which has brought 11 murders and 28 woundings to Italy in the last two weeks.
Seventeen people have been charged with murder or attempted murder mostly under the heading of “crimes of passion”, but an old law, which allowed a court to take weather into consideration when judging crimes of passion has now been repealed.
