Chiefly due to the tropical dip operating over northern New South Wales, thunderstorms and very heavy rain fell during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. to-day on the extreme north coast, and moderate to heavy on the south-west slopes and plains.
There were also light scattered registrations on the central coast, Hastings, Hunter and Manning, and central west Plains. The highest fall on the North Coast was Ballina 993.
The weather at 9 a.m. to-day was as follows: Cloudy to overcast on the coast and parts of the northern table lands and north-west slopes, with passing showers or light , rain at a few places on the coast. Elsewhere, the weather was fine and clear, with light to fresh south south-west winds on the far north-coast, and light to fresh south-east to north-east.
The highest maximum temperatures were Collarenebri 104, Coonamble 104, Bourke and Mungindi 101.
The lowest minimum was Kiandra 44, while the lowest maximum was 57 at Mount Victoria.
