The weather conditions this season continued to be abnormal.<\/div>\n
In Sydney the heat today reached a record tor the month of October, ranging up to 99.7 in the shade.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Between noon and 2 o’clock a hot north westerly wind caused the thermometer to have an upward movement, and when this gave way during the afternoon to a light southerly breeze there was a quick fall of about 20 deg.<\/div>\n
Reports from the country generally tell of high temperatures, but welcome rains are also reported from several parts. Riverina stations report a break up of the drought, which, it is hoped, will be a complete one, while in the central district several places enjoyed showers.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Proof of the severity of the season is shown by the fact that the Urana Lake is dry for the first lime in the memory of white settlers.<\/div>\n
