Riverina stations report a break up of the drought, which, it is hoped, will be a complete one, while in the central district several places enjoyed showers.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"zone onPage readMode\" data-page-id=\"8453097\" data-x=\"2545\" data-y=\"4545\" data-w=\"763\" data-h=\"714\" data-rotation=\"-1\">\n<div class=\"paragraph onPage\">\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Proof of the severity of the season is shown by the fact that the Urana Lake is dry for the first lime in the memory of white settlers.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">The reports of rain were<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">as follows:\u2014 Albury, 30 points; Braidwood,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">6: Corowa, 30; Coolainon, 10; Yass, 18.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Light showers also fell at Broken Hill,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Meniuilie, Tocumwal, Urana, Coonia,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Junee, Tumut, and Wagga.<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">The greatest heat reported was Nyngan, 108 deg.;<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">Walgett, 104;<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">Greta, 102;<\/div>\n<div class=\"read\">Grafton, 101;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"line\">\n<div class=\"read\">Singleton, 100; and Wangie, 100.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HEAT AND RAIN.
