THE HEAT WAVE.
The heat wave, which is of a remarkable character for Perth in March, still affects the State.
The extreme maximum shade temperature at the Observatory, on the summit of Mount Eliza yesterday, was 102.8 degrees.
To-day the weather was extremely sultry, and the thermometer registered 95.5 degrees in the shade. It is very close to-night.
The effect of the heat wave has been to greatly increase sickness.
