Perth is experiencing its longest heat-wave spell in March since 1921.
Today was the eighth successive day that the mercury had gone above 90 degrees.
The maximum to 3 p.m. was 92.7 recorded at 2.10 p.m.
At 3 p.m. the temperature had dropped to 91.8, was falling. “Today and tonight will continue to be hot, but tomorrow is doubtful,” said Divisional Meteorologist A. G. Akeroyd.
No century was registered in the State yesterday, when the highest reading was 98 at Onslow.
Minimum temperature was 69.9 at 6.45 a.m. today, 8.7 degrees above the March normal.
Humidity at 1 p.m. was about 18 per cent.
Highest rainfall recorded in the State for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today was 60 points at
Mundiwindi. Rawlinna had 45 points and Laverton 40.
