Blistering Heat. So why am I waking up to the coldest summer mornings in my 65 year memory?
BOM can measure all the short time frame adjusted and homogenised temperatures they want at their urban heat sink sites, but the temperatures a person my age feels day to day over your life is the true reality.
When you spend you whole working life outside beginning in the 70’s you know it’s not hotter now. It’s colder overall.
I worked as a bricklayer during the 70’s and 80’s and it was never once cold in the morning in summer.
We would start work at the crack of dawn wearing shorts and usually no shirt because by two in the afternoon it would be too hot to work. This was from the very beginning of summer right up to March.
A cool change would come about every two weeks. Now the end of most days brings a cool change.
It’s 13 degrees here in Nuggetty on the 36th day of summer. I wouldn’t mind if our wood heater was going.
