Victoria Has Record
April Heat Wave
MELBOURNE, April 2— A record April heat was reached to-day when, for the second day in succession, the mercury passed the 90 degrees mark just after 1 p.m.
A cool change is due to-night.
All Victoria felt the last sting of summer today.
Practically every station, except those in the foothills of the Alps, reported readings of 70 degrees and more at 9 a.m., with the mercury rising rapidly.
