The thermometer in Melbourne yesterday registered 108 in the shade.
Speaking at Mudgee recently, Mr. John Haynes, M.P., said under present conditions farmers never got their proper weights for produce in Sydney.
“They were never correct (according to the agent), and some fowls in the coops always died from wringing of necks.”
