BEAUFORT, Saturday.
The continued absence of rain is being severely felt throughout the district. Farmers have been carting water
for months, and township residents supplies of drinking water are becoming precious, as many tanks have given out and the majority are very low.
With a view to conserving the supply of water from the Goldfields reservoir the Ripon Shire Council are restricting its use solely for domestic purposes.
At Raglan the residents are petitioning the council to open a spring near the Methodist Church and erect a pump.
