MELBOURNE, March 7-Hot northerly winds which are expected to fan nine forest fires on
Mt. Magdala, in the Great Dividing Range, late tomorrow may bring Victoria’s worst bushfire
menace for 12 months.
Radio-equipped fire fighters left Briagalong, in the Gippsland district, and Mansfield, in the north-east, today on a 16-hour trek to the fires.
