PREVENT BUSHFIRES
Earthquake, flood, typhoon even war can do no more damage to a land than bushfires, Australia’s ever present summertime menace.
But unlike the other catastrophes, bushfires can be prevented.
Every year in Australia, carelessness starts a bushfire.
A forgotten camp fire, a dropped cigarette butt and the bushfire menace is unleashed.
Fanned by summer winds, bushfires can race through the long grass and the trees, killing and
burning everything in their path.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU NEVER START A BUSHFIRE.
Always be careful with fire in the bush and remember these rules:
Make sure your camp fire is completely out before you leave it.
Light fires only in specially prepared fireplaces.
Do not drop lighted matches.
Do not throw away burning cigarette butts.
