A COOL CHANGE.
Melbourne citizens to-day entered upon their fourth hot day in succession.
The rise from the normal shade temperature commenced on Saturday, and on each succeeding day the mercury put up a new record.
At noon to-day the thermometer equalled yesterday’s best register, and half-an-hour later it had beaten it.
Fifteen minutes before two o’clock at the Weather Bureau the record was 103.2, and at Gaunt’s 107.3.
The fitful northerly breeze swung round to the west at 1.45, and then to the south. A cool, refreshing breeze came, and in its wake was a shower, of rain.
The records of shade readings during the day were.—
